Happy Birthday to me! Yay! :)
*dancing to “Ikemen boogie” *
I wonder… What are the odds of Lahm’s fan being a girl? :)
*singing* At laaaast! I got the copy of Champions Matchday magazine. It’s a good thing they didn’t have it at the store ‘cause it would’ve cost me around $10, while there’s only one (!) page with Lahm’s interview. I got it online for $3. Yay!

Because of Lahm and because of the reference to the goal against Costa Rica. Brilliant! :D
Here I look at and grade the individual seasons of all Bayern players. Please note that all grades are 1. subjective (that means just my opinion) and 2. relative (that means Weihrauch gets a better grade for 5 goals than Gomez). This edition features three of this season’s regulars: Toni Kroos, Philipp Lahm and Mario Mandzukic.
There’s this article called “10 things about Philipp Lahm”. There’s nothing new to any true fan of Lahm, but I’ll post the link anyway. However, it’s is written rather sloppily.
1. Although it’s dated June 7, 2013, Lahm is, first, 29 years old and then suddenly 26, according to the author.
2. Claudia and Philipp didn’t get together 15 years ago. It would mean they got together at 13. No, no, and no. They’ve known each other since they were 16 or so, yes, but they got together when he was 24-25.
3. He goes to Greece more often than to Maldives, from what he’s told.
4. And then there are some spelling mistakes and whatnot.
Just discovered that in that magazine I want they called Lahm “Bayern’s talismanic skipper”. Heck yeaaah! Totally made me feel better about not having his picture on the cover.
Gonna go to the store and see if I can get this magazine there. Still, if any of you scan it/take pictures of the pages, I’d love to have them.
Having said that, good night to me and good morning/good afternoon to those in Europe and on the other side of the globe!
Andreas Hinkel’s commentary/reminiscence on/about Philipp Lahm
If any of you, wonderful people, have the June issue of this magazine, could you please scan/take a picture of the interview with Lahm and share it with the world, i.e. send it to me? :} I’d really appreciate it.
On a side note, it REALLY bugs me that, despite Lahm being the cover star, there’s Robben on the cover. When Ronaldo was the cover star, he was on the cover. When Xavi was the cover star, he was on the cover. When Schweinsteiger was the cover star, he was on the cover.
What’s up with not putting Lahm’s picture on the cover?
I’m surprised Lahm doesn’t play chess.
I can imagine how tomorrow every newspaper will have a picture of Ballack and Lahm. The social dynamic always amazes me :)
It’s interesting to see how he still walks in the same matter-of-fact manner on the pitch :))
Here’s the third article/commentary that Lahm wrote for Spiegel Online. Feels like the closing speech of the season and the beginning of something else.
Never mind the title. It’s atrocious.
I have 100 followers! Woohoo! Thanks to the Power of Lahm :p
Thank you, thank you all. I really appreciate it and work hard to make sure he’s heard.
[…] The way I normally put it is: “People don’t always like what Lahm says, but he is very rarely wrong.”
On a more serious note - what’s interesting (and what I like in a lot of ways) about Lahm’s leadership is just how understated it can often be. He’s not like Kahn or Ballack in that he screams out orders and “musters” so to speak but I have no doubt he knows exactly what’s going on with his teammates, exactly what their strengths and weaknesses are and we know he speak sot them on a one-to-one basis, at least on the NT (which means probably at Bayern too).
Lahm’s such a thinker, and in some ways I think that’s rare for captains of such a physical game. And I can fully believe he played a big part in Bayern winning their first treble this year, maybe even more so behind the scenes.” —

I just had to quote this separately ‘cause this is exactly what I think. Very well-said.
Every time I see someone wearing a jersey with Lahm’s name on it, I go, “His fans do exist! They aren’t mystical creatures!”
I made the first one. I remember someone asking about it, and now I know it was you :)
personally i saw lahm had a highfive with basti (when he successfully defended *i have no word :(* near our goal/ and than another with thomas before he took the penalty <3
can anyone making some gifs please?
thank you so muchh <3
and well im just going so crazy its 04:54am here and still can sleeppp~
Saying that he’s manipulative is rather far-fetched and/or isn’t the right choice of words.
there are a lot of things that i love about philipp lahm. you know, manipulative little shit, quality full back, great captain, supportive of LGBT rights
but like right up there?
how freaking tiny he is
It’s just that everyone else is ungodly hugenormous.
(also hee @ manipulative little shit it is true but we will pretend we don’t know that)

“As we got back to Munich after winning the Champions League, I got all players in the locker room to sign my jersey. This is a nice souvenir. It’s something that I’ll keep for the rest of my life. Perhaps one day my son, Julian, will also be happy to hold it in his hands.”
I can’t believe it… This year has been amazing. They got nothing last year and everything this year. That’s how amazing life can be, and that’s what talent and perseverance can achieve.
His second article.
Lahm has written two articles for Spiegel Online.
